Rockland Residence

In 2002, Wakefield was hired to work with the owners of a charming 1960s bungalow on a quiet residential street in the beautiful Rockland neighbourhood of Victoria. The client’s vision was to turn the existing outdated kitchen into a modern, bright and efficient space within the same small footprint. We worked closely with the client and interior designer to incorporate modern finishes and hardware throughout to achieve the contemporary look and feel. At the same time, two bathrooms were updated and turned into lovely modern, efficient spaces.

"From the day he became involved in our project, Glenn raised our level of comfort. The quality of work we expected was consistently exceeded and Glenn's stature as a well respected professional, resulted in his tradesmen completing the work when needed. Glenn also helped us retrieve our sense of humour when it would occasionally get misplaced. The level of confidence we had in Glenn and in those he brought to the project made the experience much less stressful and disruptive. We greatly appreciated the extent to which Glenn was sensitive to our schedules and needs while the renovations were underway. He made sure the work site was as clean and liveable as possible which did a lot to alleviate the inevitable strain during the course of significant renovation activity.Glenn also distinguished his work from others by the extent to which he acted as our agent during the project, often resolving the occasional difficulty before we were even engaged. This made life much easier during the renovation period than it otherwise would have been. Most important, however, is the fact that the end result exceeded our expectations. We enjoy the benefits of the renovation every day and will do so for many years." Claire and Don Avison
